Clark Law Firm Secures $375,00 Jury Verdict for Woman Injured in Crash on Garden State Parkway
While traveling on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County, New Jersey a Clark Law Firm client was injured when she was sideswiped. The injured driver was taken via ambulance to JFK Medical Center where she complained of left elbow pain, neck pain and multiple abrasions.
X-rays were taken of the left elbow, 3rd finger of the left hand, cervical spine, left forearm which did not show any fractures or dislocations. She was discharged with diagnoses of cervical strain (whiplash), elbow contusion/abrasion and knee abrasion. She was advised to follow up with her primary care physician. She followed up with an orthopedist with complaints of neck, bilateral arm and left middle finger pain, which is described as sharp, aching and dull. She indicated that she has had to remove six (6) pieces of glass from her forearm. An MRI of her cervical spine showed a broad-based disc herniation at C5-6, broad-based disc herniation at C6-7; disc herniation at C7-T1 and disc bulges C2-3 through C4-5. She underwent a course of physical therapy. She later underwent an cervical epidural steroid injection which made the pain worse in her neck. She continues to have pain down her left arm and occasionally down her right arm. She began to notice pain radiating from her chest wall to the mid-lower back. She was to continue to take medication for the pain and limitations.
The insurance company for the defendant driver refused to fairly compensate the client, forcing her to bring the matter to trial in Middlesex County, New Jersey Superior Court. After a three day trial the jury awarded $375,000 in compensation.
